The City of Sherwood Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce that City Hallow will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Sherwood City Hall complex, located at 2199 E. Kiehl Ave. The festivities are open to the public and will feature vendor booths with shopping opportunities, candy and games, a costume contest, a decorated pumpkin contest, spooky stories, and circus acts.
Area businesses and organizations are invited to participate during the event and must sign up for a vendor booth on the city’s website by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 26. In lieu of a booth fee, vendors must provide candy and a kid-friendly carnival activity at their booth. Each booth will need to be set up and ready for the public no later than 2:30 p.m. Vendors are welcome to sell items at their booth or display their business information for adults to take with them. Vendors may tear down their booths at 6 p.m.
The costume contest will include roaming mystery judges who will select first and second place in the following individual categories: funniest, cutest and spookiest. The mystery judges will also choose first and second place group costumes. Winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. and will be awarded trophies. A librarian from Amy Sanders Library will meet families at the gazebo for Spooky Story Time throughout the evening. Decorate or carve a pumpkin and bring it to City Hallow for judges to determine the top two winners from each category. Pumpkin winners will also be awarded at 5:30 p.m. Arkansas Circus Arts will showcase their daredevil skills with a zombie stilt walker and fire performer throughout the evening.
