Fireworks and Food Trucks Independence Day Family Celebration

Fireworks and Foodtrucks FB postFireworks & Food Trucks – A New Independence Day Event Comes to Sherwood

It’s almost time for Fireworks & Food Trucks at The Greens at North Hills. This event is a new take on the City’s previous Independence Day celebrations sponsored by the Advertising and Promotions Commission. The festivities will kick off at 6:00 pm on Monday, June 3rd.

Presenting the fireworks at The Greens this year will offer citizens several viewing venues on the golf course. Folks are encouraged to bring blankets and bag chairs and spread out among the rolling hills and majestic oaks. A food truck park will sit atop the driving range featuring a variety of options to provide the perfect provisions for a pre-fireworks picnic.

Complimentary parking will be provided in some of the fairway areas of the course. Signs will be posted, and attendants will be on hand to assist with parking. A limited capacity cover-charge event will take place upstairs in The Greens events center, including finger food, non-alcoholic beverages, and air-conditioning for a flat rate of $20 per person. More information will be posted soon regarding how to purchase your tickets to this event. Proceeds will benefit the Sherwood Humane Animal Shelter.

Behind the events center, a family fun zone with bounce houses will keep the little ones entertained before the big fireworks show. Additionally, a DJ will spin tunes from the outdoor balcony, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the music. Golf cart shuttles will provide service between the viewing areas, food truck park, and City provided fairway parking.

Of course, there will be other viewing opportunities in parking lots near the golf course. The City and Sherwood Police Department do not recommend parking across Highway 107 or North Hills and attempting to walk across those streets. If you park anywhere other than the City sponsored parking area, please plan to stay put and enjoy the fireworks where you parked or ONLY walk where sidewalks and crosswalks are available. The golf course also has pedestrian accessibility at various points from bordering neighborhoods.

The City hopes everyone will come out and support the festivities. Please have patience as we lay the framework for what will hopefully be a successful and enjoyable event that will become a new tradition in the culture of our wonderful City.

See you all on July 3rd!
