Council Member - Ward 4/Position 2
Mike Sanders was elected to the City Council for Ward 4 position 2 in November of 2011 and began serving the citizens of Sherwood January 1, 2012.
Education and Experience
Council Member Sanders is a 1987 graduate of North Pulaski High School. Shortly after graduating he went into the Technology field where he has been a Computer Specialist/Engineer for over 29 years. He is currently employed by Lexicon, Inc. but has also worked at companies such as Alltel Corporation, Regions Bank, UAMS, Beverly Enterprises, Continental Airlines and others. Council Member Sanders has served on the board of the Sylvan Hills Sherwood Optimist Club, Sherwood’s largest youth sports program for 14 years. He served as President 3 times and has also served as the Assistant State Director for Cal Ripken\Babe Ruth. He stays involved at the ballpark by umpiring recreational league baseball. He has been a football official for more than 30 years officiating all age groups from pee-wee to college level. Council Member Sanders was the 2014 Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Man of the year. Council Member Sanders is also involved in Keep Sherwood Beautiful. He and his wife attend Kellogg Valley Baptist Church.

Personal Life
Council Member Sanders has been a part of the Sherwood community for over 44 years. He has been married to his wife, Shannon, since 1990. Together they have raised their 3 boys in Sherwood. They spend a lot of their free time with their 3 wonderful grandchildren
