The Jack Evans Senior Citizens Center opened in March of 1996 and offers a supportive environment for our community's seniors through a number of events and services. Our center is open to anyone 50 years of age or older. Activities are a large part of the daily offerings of the center. A few of the activities include card games, dominoes, bingo, Zumba, jewelry class, scrapbook/crop, line dancing, aerobics, beanbag baseball.
There are a number of regularly scheduled events, such as the monthly potluck luncheon, normally on the first Monday of each month, most Friday evenings we have local musicians take turns playing, AARP Driving Class once a quarter and our annual Fish Fry Fund Raiser in April of every year.
We offer outings for lunch and day trips (Red Apple Inn, casino in Hot Springs, Petit Jean State Park, Garvin Gardens, and Wiederkehr Winery). Overnight trips to Branson, and extended trips with Diamond Tours (Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan, New York, Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountains).
The Jack Evans Senior Citizens Center offers transportation services for medical appointments and grocery shopping to our seniors who are not able to drive. The center has handicapped accessible vehicles with lifts or ramps for those who require additional assistance
We are one of the Early Voting Locations for Pulaski County, and we provide shelter in case of any local emergency.
