Charles Harmon

Alderman - Ward 1/Position 2

Charles S. Harmon was elected Alderman for Ward 1, Position 2 in November of 2006. He began his service on January 1, 2007. He serves in the same seat that his father, the late Mayor Bill Harmon served in for over 10 years before being elected Mayor of Sherwood.


Alderman Harmon serves as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee, and is a member of the Personnel Committee. He is also a member of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, and the Pulaski and Arkansas Bar Associations. He formerly served as a Fire Commissioner for the Sylvan Hills Fire Department, which was merged into and is now part of the Sherwood Fire Department. He is also a past president of the North Hills Jaycees. He and his family are active members of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church in Sherwood.

Education & Experience

Alderman Harmon, 47, has lived in Sherwood for over 45 years. He attended Sherwood Elementary School, and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1981. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Economics and Insurance from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Juris Doctorate from UALR’s William H. Bowen School of Law, where he graduated with honors. He and his wife currently practice law together in Sherwood at the firm of Mason & Harmon , PLLC, where he specializes in the areas of Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Probate. He has previously served as in-house real estate counsel for Dillard’s, Inc., and has practiced law with the firms of Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Burrow, P.L.L.C., and Williams & Anderson, L.L.P., both in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Personal Life

Alderman Harmon has been married since 1992 to Monica L. Mason, and they have 3 children, ages 12, 6 and 2.
